Sticky Picks

April 4, 2013

This is Vic Lawson with today’s newsletter. Once in a while a new product comes along that really works and is very much needed. One of these is the new “Sticky Picks” that a fellow steel player has invented.

I got a bottle last week and tried it all week at my gigs and I was blown away at the difference it made! Not only did it work as advertised at keeping my picks in place but it also gave me more confidence.

It really worked for me and it doesn’t remain sticky and washes right off. If you’re tired of feeling like your picks are coming off in the middle of a solo, please try a bottle of this and I think you will be as impressed as I am.

You can order a bottle at www.steelguitar.net/stickypicks.html and we will give you a free pair of Dunlop fingerpicks as a bonus.

I would also like to talk about a couple of simple ways to improve timing. I’ve been doing this for awhile now and it is something you can do driving down the road. Whatever music you are listening to, try tapping in time and then mute or turn down the volume for a few seconds while keeping time. Then unmute or turn the volume back up and see if you are still in time. This exercise will help your timing.

A good way to keep your fingers limber is try different patterns, eighths, sixteenths etc. with your thumb, index and middle fingers to the beat of the song. Change up the pattern by starting with the thumb first, then maybe the middle finger etc. but keep all three going.
