Thom Bresh, Emmons push-pull guitars

Hello fellow players,

We all know Merle Travis had a son that has a very sparking personality. His name is Thom Bresh, as fine a guitar player in the fingerstyle as there is. His closest friend was also a fingerstyle player named Buster B. Jones. Unfortunately Buster died year before last. These two magnificent virtuosos ran across me while I was playing fingerstyle at a large thumb picker convention in Statesville, North Carolina.

I was personally so astounded and intimidated by their work that I just about decided to never play fingerstyle again, but through their encouragement, I continued playing this style myself. I then learned that Thom Bresh lived right down the street from me back in Hendersonville, Tennessee.

Thom’s appreciation for me appreciating his father started a great friendship and we tried to drink up all the margaritas in town one hot Hendersonville summer. We were doing good until Buster B. got into the contest. Thom has since moved out to Arizona. I don’t mind telling you that Hendersonville, Nashville and his many friends truly miss him. I believe there is a video of Thom and I working together on YouTube and there is also one with Thom acting silly behind my steel guitar.

Anyone that ever loved Merle Travis or Chet Atkins would have to love Thom Bresh. He has many videos on YouTube and if you take the time to check him out I’m sure you’ll feel rewarded and consider it time well spent.

There are many behind the scenes people in Nashville that make the music business work but who never get talked about. If you’d like to know about more of these folks, let me know.

We have now being prepped for the showroom floor, three Emmons push pull guitars. All of you know how much Nashville thinks of these great guitars. Tone is beyond compare on these great guitars. Over much time, Nashville players have learned many tricks on how to make these guitars perform better than any other guitar made.

We always try to keep these in stock but it’s getting harder and harder every year as these guitars are being horded by the great players that really care about quality. We have two black and one rosewood finish guitars. Keep watching the website, you’ll see them show up.

Now I would like to say I have a soft spot in my heart for beginner players. It seems like I don’t really refer to you players or give you enough time on these pages. However just remember, anything it takes to help you get off to a good start, I’m here to do it. Any special needs or questions that you beginning players have, let me know.
